3 Super Simple Last-Minute Halloween Lawn Decorations

Before trick-or-treaters descend on your lawn, you want to have some sweet decorations up. Halloween might have snuck up on you, or maybe you’ve just been busy, but no worries! Here are some quick and easy Halloween lawn decorating ideas that you have plenty of time to create before the trick-or-treaters arrive.

  1. Spooky Halloween Jar Lights

These cute spooky jars can be made in a jiffy and serve a dual purpose. They look festive and they also light up the sidewalk for easy and safe navigation in the dark. Don’t force your trick-or-treaters to trip over pavers or trip up steps. Make sure your porch light is working and add some decorative lights to the walkway! TIP: LED candles are a safer way to light up jack-o-lanterns, spooky jars, and other decorations to guide the little witches and goblins to the candy.

  2. Fast Scarecrows and Wreaths

You’ve got decorating materials lying in your yard – literally. Rake up leaves and lawn debris and stuff into old clothes to create a festive scarecrow that can help you hand out candy. Use a pumpkin for his head. Broken twigs, acorns, and colorful leaves can also help you create a rustic fall wreath.

  3. Googly Eyes and Ghosts

One easy idea for some ghostly decorations is garbage bag ghosts. Trim your trees and hang these decorations with a few typical household supplies. Another option is making some glowing eyes using cardboard tubes, glow sticks, and some scissors. Hide the tubes in trees and shrubs so the eyes are peeking out at your trick-or-treaters. Here’s a DIY spider web that you can make with double-sided tape and some yarn or twine! Hang it over a bush, string it across your porch railing, or decorate your garage door.
